Many colleges look great in marketing and social media, but reality can be different. For current students, what was something you believed before joining that turned out to be completely different? This could be related to academics, placements, faculty, hackathons, campus life, workload, or opportunities
For me, the biggest difference was opportunities.
Before joining, I thought opportunities would automatically come to students who were good enough. After joining, I realized that opportunities are there, but nobody comes and gives them to you. You have to actively participate in hackathons, contests, clubs, networking, and projects. The students who keep showing up get noticed.
I also believed college would be mostly academics. In reality, what you do outside the classroom matters just as much, sometimes even more.
Out of curiosity, I wanted to ask if there is any specific opportunity (hackathon, club, internship, project, etc.) that changed your perspective after joining?
